Saying Goodbye at Woodlands Rest

Every funeral or memorial is so very important to the family and friends of the person who has died. Some people have discussed their own thoughts about their funeral, and some may decide to plan the whole thing themselves in advance. We are often asked “Do funerals have to be in a church or crematorium?”.  It’s helpful to know that a funeral can take place anywhere as long as you have permission from whoever owns the land or building. It does not have to be held in a crematorium, cemetery or religious building.

When we come to take someone who has died into our care, we bring them to rest in our funeral home, Primrose Cottage.

Built in the 17th century, this beautiful building is a peaceful well-appointed place of temporary rest. Here, we will take care of your loved one with respect and dignity until the day of the funeral.

Here at Love’s Independent Funeral Directors, you can also choose to say your final goodbyes in the heart of the cottage, Woodlands Rest.

Woodlands Rest can accommodate up to 15 guests, for a small intimate service. Professional photographic tributes, bespoke music and catering can be provided if required.
