What is a prepaid funeral plan?
A pre-paid funeral plan lets you decide what kind of funeral service you’d like to receive and pay for it in advance.
Our funeral director’s services are covered by the pre-paid funeral plan, plus Golden Charter’s funeral plans can include a contribution towards essential third party costs, such as crematorium or burial fees and minister or officiant’s fees.¹
Third party costs are outside of your funeral director’s control but will need to be paid for at the time of the funeral. Please note that the built-in allowance will not be used towards certain third party costs such as doctor’s fees (if applicable) or the purchase of the burial plot.

Why choose a Golden Charter prepaid funeral plan?
While you would be paying for a Love’s Independent Funeral Directors’ service, your money is not held by us. Your payments are held within the Golden Charter Trust. With £1.2 billion under management the Trust is operated by a Board of Trustees,5 completely independent of Golden Charter. Their role is to hold your payments and ensure that the funeral director services in your plan can be paid for at the time they are required – however far into the future that may be.
